DAAD EPOS Scholarship is a fully funded Scholarship for Master of Science in Environmental Governance (MEG).

Benefit

• Depending on academic level, monthly payments of 934 euros for graduates or 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates
• Payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover
• Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding

Under certain circumstances, scholarship holders may receive the following additional benefits:

• Monthly rent subsidy
• Monthly allowance for accompanying members of family.

Persyaratan

Eligibility:

• BSc or BA (or equivalent primary degree) well above average in  Environmental Management, Environmental  Sciences, Agricultural or Forest Sciences, Geography, Political Sciences, Sociology, Law, Economics, Ethnology, International Cooperation, Development Studies, Nature Conservation, Land Use Planning, Natural Resource Management, among others.

• Your average grade / GPA from the Bachelor must be equivalent to minimum 2.5 or better, under the German Degree System (1.0 max – 4.0 pass). We use the Bayerische Formel to convert international grades .

• English language skills on level C1 according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).We only accept the following certificates:

      TOEFL, minimum score: 95

      IELTS, minimum band 7

      Cambridge Certificates: CEA or CEP

      Pearson Academics: minimum score: 76

Note: students from India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka require a 4-year Bachelor or a 3-year Bachelor from these countries qualifies only in combination with a Master degree for a Master program in Germany.

How to Apply:

Step 2 - Your application documents

• All documents listed below have to be merged into one single PDF file, compressed, and sent to [email protected]
• Referees have to send their references directly to [email protected], not to the applicant.
• All documents must be sent electronically by October 15. Incomplete applications cannot be considered. It is not possible to send documents after the deadline.
• If you hand in the documents listed above, there is no need to submit additional documents required in the DAAD application form (e.g. project outline).

Signed DAAD Motivation Letter.

If you are applying - apart from MEG - to other Master programmes of the DAAD-EPOS programme, you have to write an additional motivation letter in which you explain why you are applying for these specific courses and why you have chosen the order of priority.

The letter should be a maximum of two A4 pages long, should refer to your current occupation, your motivation for further study and related to that, to your order of priority.  It has to include date and signature. Without this letter, DAAD will exclude you from the application process. You can apply for maximum three DAAD-EPOS master programmes.

Two recommendations

• One from a university professor/lecturer.
• One from your current or a former employer.
• Please do not send us the two recommendations, but instead, create a PDF file with only the names and contact dates of your two referees and send it to us. Letters which you upload yourself cannot be recognised.
• Ask both referees to download and complete the MEG Referees Questionnaire and to write in addition a Reference Letter. There is no template for the reference letter, though it ought to have a letterhead, signature, official stamp, and must be of current date.
• Each referee should merge -if possible- the two documents (Questionnaire and Reference Letter) into one PDF file and send it to [email protected] before Oct 15, 2023.

Step 4 -  Waiting for results / Interview

You will be notified by the end of January about the first results of the selection process. If you are nominated for the short-list an interview will follow. Only after the interview, the selection of scholarship candidates will be finalised. By mid-February, the final results will be communicated.
