The Department of Chinese Trade and Commerce aims to nurture the future experts in Chinese trade and commerce who possess both theoretical and practical knowledge, which is based on Chinese proficiency. The rapid growth of China in the international society that is accompanied by the increased trade and commercial exchange between Korea and China have resulted in the rising demand for human resources, which are specialized in the Chinese language, trade, and commerce. The Department of Chinese Trade and Commerce teaches students diverse and high-level knowledge in various areas, which include the Chinese language as well as the Chinese economy, politics, society and culture, which thereby makes them possess practical know how that is related to trade with China and investment in China.

Established in 1940, Sejong is a highly reputable private university located in Seoul, Korea. It consists of ten colleges, with 11,000 undergraduate students and 2,500 graduate students. Currently, as many as 2,200 international students (550 graduate students) are studying at Sejong as degreeseeking students, exchange students, or Language School students.
